Shopping for a Cause: Helping Animals Thrift Aids Local Rescues

Helping Animals Thrift Boutique in Davie, Florida is a unique concept in shopping for a cause: You shop, and proceeds are donated monthly to local animal rescue organizations. The brainchild behind the boutique is Stacey Sherman, a horsewoman and animal lover, who paired her retail experience with the desire to make a difference in the lives of animals in need. South Florida SPCA Horse Rescue has been a grateful recipient of monetary donations from the thrift shop since 2015. The Humane Society of Broward County, Abandoned Pet Rescue, Pets in Distress, and other local rescue organizations also benefit from shop sales.

Sherman urges the public to donate household and office items, and provides charitable giving receipts for tax deductions. Among some of the things the boutique accepts are clothing and accessories (women’s, men’s and teen’s), costume jewelry, garden items, perfumes, kitchen items, bedding, home décor items, towels, art, religious items, small furniture, and of course, items for pets.
