Deseada, an Andalusian show horse, stolen between late night Wednesday, January 18 and early morning, Thursday, January 19, 2017.
(Miami, January 26, 2017) An Andalusian show horse was stolen from a ranch located at 13405 SW 199 Avenue, Miami, FL. The 11 year old horse, named Deseada, was taken sometime between late night Wednesday, January 18 and early morning, Thursday, January 19, 2017.
As soon as it was discovered that Deseada was missing, owner Maurcio Guillen was contacted. Neighbors reported hearing a disturbance in the area. Mr. Guillen immediately reported her missing to Miami-Dade Police Agricultural Patrol. The horse is microchipped for identification.
The horse gave birth on December 3, 2016. Mercifully, the foal was not taken and, although eating, still needs its mother. Horses are typically weaned from their mothers between three and six months of age.
“I’m heartbroken that Deseada was taken. I have had her for 8 years and we have a very strong bond,” declared Mr. Guillion.
Kathleen Monahan, president of South Florida SPCA horse rescue stated, “This is a horrible situation for any pet owner. We strongly urge the public to call with any information they have about this horse.”
