Project Description
My Story
Duke is a gelding Quarter Horse that is approximately 18 years old. He stands at 15.2 hands. Duke is easy going and easy to handle. He is often use during our new Volunteer Orientation. He is good on trails and loves the water. He would probably make a great therapy horse.
Cross ties and stands for the farrier. He currently gets turned out in a herd of 20 horses, he can get possessive of his favorite mares. Radiographs indicated that he has foundered in the past before being rescued. He currently wears front shoes and pads.
Rescue Story
Duke gets along in a herd and is easy to handle. Duke loves to be groomed.
Duke was found possibly abandoned in the East Everglades water management area with another horse and a pony on 4/12/21. He had abscesses in his feet and has severe fly allergies.
